St Hilda’s College Quadrangle
University of Melbourne Parkville
Brief: To create a unified space allowing pedestrians to clearly access the new Dining Hall extension
This project, a quadrangle located at St Hilda’s College in Melbourne University is about the exploration of spatial planning and symmetry. The design is comprised of simple geometric forms that define and separate the space. Around the perimeter a linear pedestrian pathway system allows students to move to and from buildings. Internally, large rectangular planes of pavement, lawn and gravel have been created to allow for social gatherings and quiet contemplation.
